Video Chatting for the Holidays

Family time during the holidays is never quite the same as when we were kids.  Yes, we still have the tree, present exchange, food, and laughter. But without all the kids under one roof, there's a little bit of the magic gone.  Our cupcake princess couldn't make it home for the holidays, but we still managed to have fun miles apart.  Video chatting while opening stocking stuffers and presents helps us bring the holiday magic to our family though we're miles away.  And of course, chatting about fashion finds and cupcake recipes is always a topic of discussion or even fashion show or food show during our video chats!

Speaking of fashion finds, my favorite gift this holiday came from my mother-in-law, $50 Gift Card to Goodwill!  Who knew Goodwill has gift cards? Not me! Now I'm going to map out multiple GWs in the area that I haven't visited to have a 1 day excursion of thrift shopping! My excitement for this adventure is comparable to my sister's excitement for new cupcake decor and fun spatulas! (make easy gift card purchases for ANYWHERE @ giftrocket.com)

I know thrifting is the new craze right now and I could be considered a cult leader.  If you would like to join this religion of thriftiness, I'd suggest you start at your local Goodwill.  Here is a quick overview of my thrifty Christmas outfit.....my husband asked if I was going for a lumberjack look.  My response, "I still have to add my knit hat."
Rock and Republic Skinny Jeans: $6/$90-$130
Decree Hooded Fringed Sweater Vest: $3/$30-$50
Converse Ruffle Front Flannel Shirt: $3/$15-$20
ShoeDazzle Knee High Boots: $25
(*I've recently signed up for Shoedazzle.com V.I.P....so far it's sooo easy to use and NO hidden charges. Just remember to set a reminder in your calendar to skip the month if you're not intending to buy. I'll keep you updated, but just to entice you I got 3 pairs of boots for a total of only $75)

Alright Readers, now it's time to Choose Your Fate: Cupcakes or Fashion!

First you'll get to see Lil Cupcake Princess' Kitchen! (You'll begin to understand just why I call her this.....btw, it's only the beginning.........)

And now....the "Perfect Gift" for someone that has a vast number of cupcake decor....drum rolllllll....
MORE CUPCAKE  DECOR!!
Becky was really thrilled!  Especially about the silicone pink oven glove and tongs I found from
Hobby Lobby.  Ok, this wasn't her real gift.  It was all stocking stuffers, but I'm pretty sure she loved this more than her "big" gift.  You have to know my lil sis like I do....she HATES shopping.  She has always been the one to follow me or mom around the store; not touching ANYTHING unless we put it in her hands.  Yes, I know this is surprising because of how gorgeous she is....but her husband is a better shopper than herself!  He and SHE will testify to this claim.  Her husband has even gone as far as putting items into her hands and telling her to try them on! So here it is, her real present....let me remind you she has told me multiple times that I should just be her personal shopper.......

A complete outfit from Maurices Store!
Yup, she couldn't hide her excitement.....(sarcasm)

Well, I know which present I'd be more excited about!  How about you?  Choose Your Fate: Cupcakes or Fashion.  Give us a comment about which you'd prefer and then tell us about your favorite Christmas present you received this holiday.

Of course, your Sweet Treat for the Road Recipe:

  1. I like both!!! I can't pick just one! My favorite gift this Christmas was a purse that my daughter, Lucy bought me from the lemonade stand at her school!!
